It’s time to start thinking about where you are going to plant your garden.
For a Planter:
Choose a planter with drainage holes and fill it with nutrient-rich potting soil.
For the Ground:
Select a spot with proper sunlight and suitable soil for the plant type. Loosen the soil and mix in compost if needed.
Acclimate the Plant:
Before transplanting, let the plant adjust to its new environment by setting it outside (if moving outdoors) for a few hours daily over a week.
Handle with Care:
Keep the dirt puck intact to avoid disturbing the roots. Moisten the puck to make it easier to handle.
Dig an Appropriate Hole:
Make a hole in the planter or ground that is slightly larger than the dirt puck. The top of the puck should be level with the soil surface.
Planting:
Place the puck gently into the hole and backfill with soil, pressing lightly to secure the plant while avoiding compaction.
Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting to help the soil settle around the roots. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged in the following weeks.
Additional Care:
Add mulch around the plant to retain moisture and regulate temperature. Provide appropriate sunlight, and follow care guidelines for the plant species.
Following these steps ensures the plant thrives in its new environment!
