Dear Gardners,

I’m so happy to meet you! I am writing to thank you for planting me. I am Tomas, your new tomato plant, and I am so excited to start my new life in your garden.

I know I am just a little plant right now, but I have big dreams. I want to grow big and strong, so that I can produce lots of delicious tomatoes for you and your family to enjoy.

I know that I can’t do it without your help, though. So, here are a few tips on how to help me grow:

• Water me regularly. I need about an inch of water per week, but check the soil to make sure it is actually dry before watering.

• Give me plenty of sunlight. I need at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.

• Fertilize me every month. Use a fertilizer that is specifically designed for tomatoes. You will be learning more about that soon.

• Protect me from pests and weeds.

I know I can be a bit of a diva, but I promise I am worth it! With your help, I will grow into a beautiful and productive tomato plant.
